Book, Blog, Fabric February 2017

This Month for Book, Blog, Fabric - Susan was our guest speaker and she came with all kinds of eye candy.

Angela Walters was our guest blogger last month, and it's great to feature some of her work in greater detail. Susan chose "Shape by Shape" volumes 1&2.


Here are a few pictures from the book, demonstrating the amazing quilting she teaches in these fantastic books.




For Blog, Susan chose to feature http://barbarabrackman.blogspot.ca/.  Barbara Brackman is best known as a quilt historian. With several books on historical blocks and quilts, she is definitely the go-to person for dating your antique quilts and blocks. She is also a guest blogger at the Fat quarter shop's blog "the Jolly Jabber" every other Friday for "Flash Back Friday". So much information, you should absolutely check out her blog, it is a wealth of information and a glimpse into the past.

Lastly for Fabric, Susan brought in her wonderful collection of Cotton + Steel fabrics.


  Susan loves that the fabrics are modern and rich, without being bright Jewel-toned. Here she is showing us her C+S borders, A perfect way to finish off some orphan blocks.



Cotton + Steel, is a division of RJR Fabrics. This company of designers includes Melody Miller, Rashida Coleman-Hale, Alexia Abegg, Kim Kight and Sarah Watts. As a young company, Cotton + Steel hopes to honor the traditions of creativity, resourcefulness, and innovation inherent in the sewing and quilting world. The five designers are usually collaborative, and their fabrics can be found in shops across the world. each of these talented ladies has their own blog/website so check them out!! Here is a sampling of their beautiful fabrics in finished quilts.
