PEI Modern Quilt Guild May 2019 Sew-In

Happy Mother's Day weekend!!  I hope all the Mother's out there are feeling some love, and getting to enjoy the weekend doing what they love best!! Spending time with loved ones, being spoiled, or maybe getting to spend the entire day sewing!! 

We had 10 members gather to work and play together on a beautiful Spring day.

Leigh Anne came with a goal in mind.... to finish a quilt 8 years in the making.  "Trees" was quilted with wavy lines using her walking foot. All that remains is the binding!! Congrats on knocking another UFO off the list!!

Later in the afternoon, Leigh Anne was drawing lines for Half Square Triangles. She's pattern testing for Satterwhite Quilts . It's going to be gorgeous, and I can't wait to see it come together!!

Dianne has been making progress on her "String X quilt". All those lovely scraps are becoming blocks!!

Janet was spending time with the Medley Medallion QAL. Here are her HST units. 

Lucinda kept busy with handwork, her "Santa Triptych" embroidery project is going to be stunning when it's finished.

Janice has been making "52 blocks in 52 weeks". Here is one of her completed blocks. 

Linda was sharing her fabric pulls for the "Wonky Trees" Block Lotto blocks... I can't wait to see them and everyone else's at the June meeting. 

Here are her completed "Fabric Boxes" from the Demo she gave a few months ago. They are just so sweet!!

Cathy shared this super cute "Necessary Clutch Wallet" that was made for her Mother in Law for Mother's day. (It was a huge hit!!)

Velda was making her Half Square Triangle units for the Medley Medallion QAL. She was enjoying using her recently serviced sewing machine, it was purring like a kitten!!

She's also been having lots of fun designing Triangle quilts too. Check out this fun, modern design!!

Roberta and Susan stopped by for a visit in the morning, to admire what everyone was working on and to share some possible news for the future. We love having visitors so feel free to drop in and visit if you are in the neighbourhood!! (Future meeting dates can always be found at the bottom of each blogpost).
