Heather J. opened the meeting by greeting us all and welcoming our newest member Maritza.
First up we had our February Queen Bee Colleen receive her finished blocks.
March Queen Bee Cathy presented her "Over and Under" blocks. The fabric was supplied with instructions. ( please remember that Cathy is collecting the leftover cutoff triangles from the blocks to make mini HTS's)
Liz handed out the Round Robin boxes for April and the instructions for the next Round is: One L-shaped border measuring 3.5" unfinished.
We were all very excited for Heather J to discuss her recent trip to QuiltCon 2017 which you can read about here. She came back with all kinds of goodies, like this Swag Bag which was for the first 1000 delegates who registered.
She shared with us an awesome slideshow presentation of some of her favorite quilts .
While at Quilt Con, Heather J. attended workshops/lectures by Elizabeth Hartman, Angela Walters, Cheryl Arkison and Violet Craft.
Here is the adorable block made from Violet Craft's "Forest Abstractions".
We have partnered up with Mad About Patchwork and curated this Fun and Beautiful FQ Bundle. "Coastal Musings " is the April 2017 Modern Guild bundle. These bundles are limited, so be sure to grab one before they are sold out.
We are so happy to announce that we have finished our Canada's 150th Quilt. It turned out AMAZING !!! This was a group effort by many of our talented members, who selflessly devoted many weekends to constructing blocks and assembling the quilt. Here is the completed project. There are 150 leaves (or partial leaves) in this Stunning quilt. Go ahead and count them I dare ya!!!
The Quilt is a large one, just over 90" x 100". This Maple leaf on the back is just perfection to me.
Great job everyone!
