I think it is safe to say that everyone who participated had an enormously good time (and we got some sewing in too)!!!
We arrived prior to supper on Friday afternoon, which gave us just enough time to set up our sewing stations before digging in. Let me just say, you definitely don't go hungry on Retreat, LOL. The food was delicious, and the snacks between mealtimes were plentiful!! The staff took excellent care of all our needs. (Please be sure to check out Velda's blog where she shared details of the menu and her photos of the fun happening during the retreat!!)
After supper, we wasted no time and began sewing and cutting our individual projects. Leigh Anne had the 1st finish of the night!!
Later in the evening we had a game of Left, Right, Centre, where Janice was the ultimate winner.
Heather made some good progress on this lovely quilt using 60 degree triangles.
Here's some of Roberta's blocks on the design wall.
Some of us stayed to sew into the night while others found their way to the common lounge to unwind and enjoy a glass of wine. Then it was off to bed to rest and rejuvenate before the next day of sewing.
Breakfast was served at 8 AM. French Toast ..... Yumm. Saturday was a lovely day, spent sewing, walking the grounds and spending time chatting casually between projects.
The popular choice for blocks were the "Raspberry Kiss" Block Lotto blocks, The "Lilla" quilt blocks (our 2020 Raffle quilt project), and the Medley Medallion QAL blocks, being made by several members throughout the weekend.
Dawn was having fun playing with Beautiful Blues.
Dianne was swimming in Scraps under the cutting table, LOL...
Saturday evening had us playing another game of Left, Right, Centre with Jean being the winner!!
Cathy and her mother, Anna were able to finish piecing their "Piece and Love" quilt tops!!!
The final game of the Retreat, was played in the Common Room. We played a quilting themed "Have you Ever..." with multiple winners:
Sunday morning we were up early and ready to go!! After clearing out of our rooms and having breakfast, we were happy to spend the few remaining hours finishing up some of our sewing.
Here's Gail with some of her "Tula Pink 100 Modern Quilt Blocks".
and Helen had this lovely swan block completed.
Roberta was able to get some quilt panels pieced into quilt tops. Here are two examples...
Linda made this sweet bag using the kona color chart panel!! Really nice!!
Maritza made great progress working on these 3D blocks.
Heather assembled her Zen Chic triangles into this stunning top.
Cathy and Anna had fun with Walking Foot Quilting on these pillow shams.
Velda had fun working on lots of different blocks, here is an example of just one type:
Nancy's "Checkered Lattice" blocks are really coming along.
Lucinda was able to get all but the final 2 borders finished on her Medley Medallion Quilt.
Here we all are for the 2019 PEI Modern Quilt Guild Retreat photo:
