Heather opened the meeting with a few announcements...
Upcoming elections are pending for the Executive and officers of the PEI Modern Quilt Guild. Any guild members interested in holding a position are asked to send an email to peimqg@gmail.com stating the position desired.
Our QuiltCon charity quilt challenge 2019 is nearing completion. It is with Colleen, one of our talented Long Armers, waiting to be quilted and bound. We are so excited to see it finished.
We are also looking forward to our Spring 2019 Retreat taking place at "Our Lady of Hope" March 8 -10th. Heather shared the Cheryl Arkison pattern "Lilla", which will be featured at the retreat as a block challenge to members who want to play along.
The PEIMQG sold raffle tickets for this lovely quilt in 2018. We drew the winner during the meeting and..... Cindy G. was the lucky winner!!! A huge thank you to the members who helped complete this fun quilt, to Velda the super talented designer and to everyone who purchased tickets. We really appreciate it.
Cathy presented her Medley Medallion quilt to the group. The PEIMQG will be participating in a Skill building Quilt-Along in 2019. If you are interested in the Medley Medallion quilt, the patterns are being published in Make Modern magazine, beginning with the current issue 25 and every other month for six issues. It should be so much fun, I can't wait to see what our members come up with!!
Next up was our Color of The Year (COTY) Mug Rug Swap. The PEI Modern Quilt guild had a lot of fun swapping mug rugs with the Renfrew County Modern Quilt Guild. We absolutely loved all the mug rugs we received. What a bunch of talented quilters!!
It's not to late to start working on your PEIMQG "Block Lotto" blocks (due in February). Make as many blocks as you want to have more chances to win them all!!! Here are some of Velda's:
