PEIMQGG September 2017 Sew-In

Well, the end of summer is coming..... (where does the time go?).  We had 7 members sewing throughout the day, and another member drop by for a visit. We also had a visitor from Canmore, AB. Welcome to Brenda (along with her friend). We love having visitors!!! Making blocks or binding, was what most had in mind for the day.

Let's check out the quilt goodness..

Lucinda brought in pieced blocks for the backing of our QuiltCon 2018 Charity Quilt.  Linda, who had worked hard on piecing the top along with others, brought the side pieces.  Heather J. took everything home to piece the backing.  Doesn't it look ahhhsome?  Kudos to the members who met in August to piece the top together.  We'll keep it under wraps for the final reveal after it is quilted.  Love, love the colours chosen for the the 2018 theme, modern traditionalism.

Lucinda was working on a paper pieced pattern.  She was debating which fabric will be her background so she tested each to decide. I can't wait to see which one she landed on.  I like the brown for the background,  so I'm rooting for that fabric.  Hmm, didn't capture the fabrics she was working with, so, I guess we'll stay tuned...

Gail and Linda brought their wall hangings to hand sew the bindings.  Gail had 2 advent calendars, however, she had not put the dark chocolate pieces in the pockets.  :(  Linda was binding  her fabulously colourful quilt.  Love, love the design and quilting for this piece.

Jean was cutting the binding for two of her quilts.  She's keeping us in suspense so we'll have to wait for Show and Share to see them.  Both Linda and Jean had black and white striped fabrics as their binding:  one horizontal, the other on the diagonal.  The rest of us admired.

Susan also brought a quilt for binding.   She uses the single fold method to bind her quilts.

Our visitor, Brenda, is joining us for the PEIMQG Mystery Quilt Along.  She also shared pictures of her quilts.  Thanks for dropping in!  It was great to spend time chatting about quilts with you.

Heather J and Janice worked on the first clue of the #peimqgmqal2017.  Heather used the 2 at a time method and Janice the 8 at a time method to make HSTs.  Janice's chosen technique was far faster!

Susan brought some quilts she finished for donation to Foster children, our charity this fall.

Well, that sums up our Saturday quilty adventures.
